Faith brought me here.

My faith has always been at the heart of Yellow Petal Co. Through seasons of joy, loss, change and uncertainty, I've learned how important it is to stay rooted in God's Word—even when life doesn't look the way we expected it to.

Yellow Petal began during one of those seasons. I wanted to create something meaningful that could encourage other women to slow down, spend time with God and live with greater intention. Today, that purpose shows up in the devotionals, Bible studies, Scripture resources and planners I create. My hope is simple: that something you find here helps point you back to Him.

Creativity has always been part of me.

I come by creativity honestly. My mom was a talented knitter who filled our home with handmade things and taught me about kindness, creativity and the importance of keeping God at the center of life. Yellow Petal was originally born as a way to honor her after I lost her far too soon.

My dad was a storyteller and an artist at heart. I lost him while I was beginning to imagine a new direction for Yellow Petal, but so much of him lives on in what I create. He encouraged my love of drawing, characters, storytelling, nature and noticing the little things other people sometimes walk right past.

What started with handmade décor has changed over the years—as have I. Today my creativity shows up in devotionals, planners, printables, junk journals, stickers, books and whatever idea happens to be scribbled in my notebook next. But the reason I create hasn't changed: I believe God gave us creativity for a purpose, and beautiful things can carry meaningful messages.

Then Bob wandered into the story. 🐾

And then there's Bob.

Mr. Bob Scratch-it is my curious orange tabby who somehow managed to turn himself into a rather important part of Yellow Petal Co. But Bob's story became about much more than a cat. Through watching the animals that visit our backyard—the deer, raccoons, squirrels, possums, birds and all the other little characters who appear—I started paying even closer attention to the wonder of God's creation.

That eventually inspired Bob's Backyard Buddies and grew into Bob's Nature School: books and printable activities that help children learn about wildlife, nature, kindness, curiosity and the amazing world God created right outside our doors.

Bob may believe he's in charge of the entire operation. I'm not going to be the one to tell him otherwise. 😉

Yellow Petal Co. has grown and changed right along with me, but at its heart it is still about the same things: faith, creativity, intentional living and finding wonder in the ordinary.
